These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of SemiJo ("the platform"), operated by Semi Digital. By creating an account or using SemiJo, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
By accessing or using SemiJo, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement, and accept these Terms in full. If you are using SemiJo on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
SemiJo is an AI-powered journalism operating system that provides tools for story pitching, research management, interview recording and transcription, source organisation, AI-assisted drafting, editorial collaboration, and content publishing. Features may vary based on your subscription plan.
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.
You agree to use SemiJo only for lawful purposes consistent with professional journalism standards. You must not:
You retain full ownership of all content you create, upload, or generate using SemiJo, including stories, recordings, source materials, and drafts. By using the platform, you grant SemiJo a limited licence to process your content solely to provide the services described herein. We do not claim ownership of your editorial work.
SemiJo provides AI tools to assist journalists. You remain solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and editorial integrity of any content you publish. AI-generated suggestions are tools to support your work, not replace professional editorial judgment. Always verify AI-assisted content against verified sources before publication.
SemiJo offers a 30-day free trial with full platform access. After the trial, continued access requires a paid subscription. Subscription fees are billed in advance. Payment methods include Telebirr, CBE Birr, Chapa, Bank Transfer, Visa, and Stripe. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
We strive to maintain platform availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform scheduled maintenance or experience unexpected downtime. We are not liable for any loss resulting from service interruptions.
You may cancel your account at any time by contacting [email protected]. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your access to the platform will cease and your content may be deleted after 90 days.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SemiJo and Semi Digital shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including loss of data, revenue, or reputation. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or platform notice. Continued use of SemiJo after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
